Setting up a integration with Branch, a Mobile Measurement Partner (MMP)

How to work with Branch

Updated over a week ago

This article will describe how to work with Branch, a preferred mobile measurement partner (MMP).

Branch Setup Guide

Connecting Branch with Roku Ads Manager will enable the sending of app install events to Roku Ads Manager to power (a) attribution reporting, (b) automated optimization for Installs, and (c) custom audience building within our platform.

At the same time, it will return attribution data back to Branch for holistic reporting within your Branch reporting dashboards.

  • NOTE: Roku Ads Manager does not currently send spend data to Branch. We are in the process of establishing this part of our integration.

Follow these steps to connect your Ads Manager account with Branch, enabling the delivery of install events across both platforms.

  1. Sign into Ads Manager

  2. Go to the Events page

  3. Identify an existing Event Group or create a new Event Group

  4. Copy the Event Group ID

  5. Send Roku (adsmanagersupport@roku.com) the following information:

    1. Your MMP name (in this case, Branch)

    2. Your Event Group ID

  6. Sign into your Branch account

  7. Click the "Ads" menu item on the left navigation menu, and then click the ‘Partner Management’ sub menu item

  8. Search for "Roku SAN" and click the tile

    1. NOTE: Do not use the ‘Roku’ option. Only use "Roku SAN"

    2. If you don’t see ‘Roku SAN’, it’s likely because Household Measurement is not enabled in your Branch account. This setting is required for the Roku Ads Manager integration to work correctly. To enable it, please contact your Branch representative.

  9. Enter your Roku Ads Manager Event Group ID and click "Save"

  10. Navigate to the "Events Config" tab and map your Branch app events to Roku Ads Manager events

    1. Events will appear in Roku Ads Manager attribution reporting based on this mapping configuration.

  11. [Optional] If you want to change your attribution window settings within Branch for Roku Ads Manager specifically, you can do so in the "Attribution Windows" tab

    1. Note: If no action is taken here, your default app attribution settings will be used.

  12. You are now ready to launch your campaign!

    1. Please note that Events can take up to 4 hours to appear in Roku Ads Manager.

Additional considerations:

  • If you use a Branch click-URL for Action Ads, users will be routed to the correct app store based on their mobile OS. However, please note that click-events will not be considered in Branch attribution calculations at this time.

  • Roku Ads Manager does not currently send spend data to Branch. We are in the process of establishing this integration.
