Tealium Set Up Instructions

How to set up event tracking with Tealium

Updated over a week ago

If you use Tealium to manage event data on your website, you can send conversion events directly to Roku with a server-to-server integration with the Roku Events API.

This will allow you to track, measure, and optimize the performance of your Roku Ads Manager campaigns without relying on client-side tags or custom Events API implementations. You are responsible for any Event Data you send us, whether directly or through a third party like Tealium, all of which is subject to the Ads Manager Terms.

Coming Soon: Tealium will soon launch an integration with Roku’s JavaScript Pixel through its Tag Management product. This will allow for seamless client-side tagging and deduplication between the JS Pixel and Events API.

9. Set your event parameters, user data, and custom data:

a. Event Parameters: Map Tealium events to Roku’s standard events

b. User Data: Select identifiers to send to Roku, mapping them to Roku’s ID types

c. Custom Data: Map event metadata. For example, you can set the value of an order or send an order ID.

Note: The ‘Automatic Deduplication’ section is not yet relevant, because Roku’s JavaScript Pixel (tag) integration with Tealium is not yet live.

Congrats! You have now implemented event tracking for Roku Ads Manager!

Note: In roughly 6 hours, you should see events start to accrue within the Events page of Roku Ads Manager.
