Who can use the Ad Credits in this article?
New organizations may apply an ad credit before they begin spending. It's our way of saying thank you for signing up. The ad credits below are only available for organizations who have not spent on Ads Manager yet.
What are Ad Credits?
Ad credits are promotional offers which can be redeemed within Roku Ads Manager and applied towards advertising campaign spend on the platform. Use of ad credits is subject to the Ads Manager Terms.
These ad credits work like a spend match, and it is important to note the timeline of this promotion to ensure you get the credit that works best for your business.
For example: After applying your WELCOME1K credit, you have 30 days for your campaign ad spend to reach $1,000 for the ad credit to unlock. When it has unlocked, the method of payment switches to your ad credit and you have 30 days to spend the $1,000 credit.
Ad Credit Options
Ad credit code | Offer |
WELCOME1K | Spend $1,000, get $1,000 |
WELCOME2K | Spend $2,000, get $2,000 |
WELCOME5K | Spend $5,000, get $5,000 |
WELCOME10K | Spend $10,000, get $10,000 |
WELCOME20K | Spend $20,000, get $20,000 |
NOTE: All credits listed are limited to organizations that have not launched a campaign with us on any ad account, can be used only once, and must be redeemed within 30 days.
How do I know what ad credit is right for me?
Determine how many households you'd like to reach within the first 30 days by using our campaign forecaster tool. Once you have determined how much you'd like to spend in your first 30 days, you can redeem one of the ad credit codes listed above.
How do I activate and use my ad credit?
Ad credits are issued as promotion codes. Once you have your desired promotion code, you can apply it to an ad account within your organization, provided your account is in good standing and has a valid payment method on file.
To activate your ad credits:
1. Navigate to your ad account’s Payment page by clicking the icon on the top right of any screen.
2. Enter the ad credit code on the right-hand side of the page.
3. Navigate to your Ad credits page by clicking on the link below Payment in the left side menu. View all Pending, Active, or Expired ad credits and offers on this page.
Best Practices and Considerations
Time it right. Only apply the ad credit when you're ready to go live. The 30-day clock starts as soon as you add it to your account (not when you first start spending), so apply it right before you launch to give yourself the best chance to hit your spend match and unlock the credit.
Apply the correct ad credit. Lock down your budget before you launch, then apply the credit that matches it. Once applied, you can't make changes, so be sure you use the proper ad credit and have a plan to hit each milestone.
Adjust your budget once unlocked. Once your ad credit unlocks, adjust your budget to spend the credit you've earned.
Add a buffer to your budget. Consider adding 5% to 10% to your budget. If your ad credit is $500, setting your budget to $510 gives you a stronger chance of hitting your unlock amount. Roku Ads Manager will try not to exceed your budgeted amount, so this could affect your ad credit timeline. Once your credit unlocks, raise your budget to $1,000 so the system spends the additional $500 that was just added. You can also set your budget to $1,000 over 60 days, but be sure to monitor it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I apply my ad credit to a specific campaign? No. Ad credits apply across all campaigns in your ad account and can't be allocated to one campaign.
Why was my card charged when I have an ad credit on file? Ad credits only cover spend that happens after the credit is activated. Any spend before activation, or after your credit is used up, is charged to your original payment method.
Can I use the same promo code more than once? No. Promo codes are limited to one use per advertiser unless stated otherwise.
My ad credit expired before I used it all. Can I get an extension? No. Once an ad credit expires, it can't be reinstated or extended.
Can I apply an additional promo code if my budget has changed? You can only have one ad credit active at a time, so you’ll either need to wait until the current credit expires or start fresh with a new organization.
